It was the 4th of July. My friends and I chose this bench to watch the fire works. The view and atmosphere was beautiful! We saw children playing in the fountain, street musicians, and couples walking on the boardwalk. But then something came from above, and it was not rain. I looked over to my mother’s hair and saw what I believed was a slug. It was not a slug, it was bird p***. We frantically grabbed tissues and hand sanitizer to clean her hair. My friend freaked out and almost flung the p*** at me. Thankful to the bench being close to the fountain, we went to get the water to fully rinse her hair. Afterwords we laughed and cautiously watched out for anymore “surprises.” Sadly due to us being scared of the bird p*** a couple stole one of our benches. This holiday is celebrated for our fight for freedom, but today will forever be remembered as our fight for clean heavens.
