So… I was born and raised here. Grew up in mt pleasant. Never thought I would ever move downtown. My fiancé, Alexandra, is from Columbia. She has always loved downtown Charleston. I told her I would never move downtown and always wanted to be in mt p. Friends, local acquaintances, family home with a dock and a neighborhood boat landing (very hard to come by). But here I am on bench 44 and too be honest, now I don’t think I ever don’t want to live downtown. She had convinced me to buy a house in an upcoming neighborhood, and I really couldn’t be happier with our decision. I love the aspect of being able to walk to the grocery store, walk to Hampton park, walk to grab a nice bottle of vino, walk to grab bite to eat. H*** I could even walk to work… but I ride my bike, we’re a little ways from MUSC as we sit. Anyway, moving across the bridge has opened up my perspective of living a “city life”. I really do love it down here. It’s funny, growing up here, every time I came downtown I was doing some touristy s*** on a school field trip. Weather it be riding in a carriage tour or doing some ghost tour during the month of October. I found myself coming down here in high school and being completely lost, all the time. The only place I knew how to get to was mama kim’s, cause we used to get really stoned and come munch out. I never had any idea that these little neighborhoods existed. And there is so much character. Anyway, rant over. Love where I’m at right now. Cheers
