  >  Virtual Journal Entry: A beautiful windy autumn at the bench near Main Street Landing off College Street
·

It’s November 06, 2022. It’s after 1am. Last night was such a beautiful night. I really enjoyed the weather. It felt like beach weather. I had to run some time-sensitive errands and I really wanted to just be outside, walking around. So, I went for a walk and now it’s passed midnight and I’m sitting on the bench enjoying wind bathing. The winds are strong and yet gentle. As I was sitting here relaxing and reflecting, I thought about how nice, thoughtful, and wonderful it was for people to plant all these bushes and flowers around here and for people to put a bench beside it. They truly make the world a better place! It got me thinking about how I would want a deceased relative to have a gravestone/memorial with a bench for visitors and pedestrians to sit and rest on and for non-human animals to enjoy as well. Why not put a bird bath and bird feeder near the bench even? At some point, I found the tag on the bench I’m sitting on right now and so learned about the Bench Project. I thought it was interesting and awesome that someone thought to create this community that revolves around benches. Connecting with others is always great. I was also curious to see what would happen if I scanned the tag with my phone. Anyhow, I filmed 30 seconds of the weather at the bench right now and tried attaching it for everyone to see what this night/early morning is/was like. However, the page showed a message that said my video file was too big! Oh well, at least I gave a description about tonight.

Get Outside to Go Inside. And Come Sit with Us!

Thank you for spending time with The Bench Project. When you share your bench moment with our community, you may never know the impact or inspiration of your words, feelings and story on the next reader, but it still feels good... to leave it at the bench.
