Virtual Journal Entry: Small Moments are the Biggest
For some reason every time I sit at a bench, I feel like I’m in a movie. It feels like a magical snapshot of life, a moment of pause as the main character thinks about his/her next move. It’s where I can actually just take in what’s happening in my world at this present moment. This bench in memory of Nikki is no exception! This park is so lovely. When I sit at a bench in a new place, it’s easier for me to see the big picture of this life experience. Whether I’m looking out onto a sidewalk that’s bustling with strangers walking by, or at a pristine location in nature – suddenly all of my problems don’t feel so big. The bench is where I find empathy for the world and deeper appreciation for each person and the gifts they have. As I sit and reflect on the “movie scene” of my life, I let myself dream of what’s to come and let go of the heaviness I brought with me when I first sat down. That’s the beauty of the bench to me. How about you?
Thank you for spending time with The Bench Project. When you share your bench moment with our community, you may never know the impact or inspiration of your words, feelings and story on the next reader, but it still feels good... to leave it at the bench.
