Virtual Journal Entry: Happy New Year!
Happy new year 2023! I’ve been visiting Lewes regularly since about 2008 and have sat at this bench – and in the nearby gazebo – many times. Today feels different, as all days do: the sun is shining warm on my skin, and a new year has just begun, holding so much unknown in its grasp. Whatever’s in store, I’m grateful to this bench for a few minutes of rest in the sunshine, and an invitation to reflect on what’s come before and what lies ahead. For now, though, it’s a gift to sit quietly and simply Be.
