Virtual Journal Entry: Living a life beyond walls
I work with developmentally disabled adults in an art program.
So often their lives are being shuttled from one building to the next for programs and skill building groups, isolated from the rest of the community.
Today I got to work with out without walls program, going out into the community, and exploring and doing art beyond our regular studio. This gives us the opportunity to be involved in community life.
We decided to enjoy the nice weather and draw by the lake, eventually taking a walk up the stairs and looking at the view from up high.
This bench allowed us to take a step back and experience the wonderful park. So thank you to this bench and this project for letting me share the beautiful day we were lucky to have!
