I live in Salt Lake City and grew up hearing my family talk about Leadville, but had never visited. Apparently my great, great grandma lived here – my grandpa’s grandma! Buying a Melly was my motivation for visiting, thanks to seeing a friend’s earlier this year and learning about the Leadville connection. Though I came for a Melly, I was enamored with the town and really enjoyed camping and hiking nearby with my dog. I kept trying to imagine how it might have been when my relatives lived here in the late 1800s/early 1990s. I can’t wait to come back to learn more!
